Take a walk with me

Hard to believe that my last blog post was a month ago and the garden looked like this. A month later, and a number of hard frosts later, it looks like this:

Sigh...it was bound to happen. I will miss my time in the garden. I haven't cut anything back yet. I'm always a bit unsure whether it is in the best interest of the plants to cut them back, or to let them lay as a protective cover through the cold winter months. Suggestions?

While the garden has gone to sleep, nature is abundant with beauty. -
A walk around the 'homestead' just a week ago...

I just love it when Aspen do the 'red-orange thing'.

That's Pikes Peak in the background

The creek bed at the base of the hill.

Looking south towards Cripple Creek from the driveway.

View from the front porch of the house.
That rock formation is Crystal Peak.
Last Sunday, Jim and I went on a ride in the National Forest,
but the sun was too bright to take photos. You'll
just have to take my word for it that the views were stunning.

And then on Friday of this week, it snowed about 3 inches!

And then today - Sunday, I went for a run. When I got home I had to turn around and go back with the camera.

See the house in the upper right corner?

Here's my favorite photo from today:

The colors will fade quickly now, and another snow is forecast for tonight. You can see the stormy skies in the last set of photos.

Just wanted to share the beauty with you!

And off in Wyoming...
Jim went fishing with a friend this weekend.
Pretty cold day on the water!

Jim with a really ugly Carp.
Fun to catch - not a fish to eat!

Jim with a Walleye - what they went to catch!
