Arrived home on Monday afternoon just as a late afternoon storm was moving in. The ground was already damp since it rained on Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning!!!! I can literally hear the earth sighing...
The photo above is just after the rained stopped. I sat on the porch under a blanket, with a hot cup of coffee, for over an hour and just enjoyed watching it rain. A treat I no longer take for granted. A 'show' that's better than any movie I could watch.
The morning after a rain is a treat! We seldom have fog...seldom have enough moisture to create the conditions...unlike my California family and friends!
So, I set off on a walk-about to observe nature under these rare conditions.
Puddles! We actually had puddles of water! Unbelievable in terrain made up of decomposed granite where water hits the earth and it appears to be going directly down a drain into the ground.
Water clinging to leaves and needles of all kinds.
Rain... a blessing and a celebration!
